Why does The Puffin Hut need to verify your age?
Under current UK legislation, it is illegal to sell electronic cigarettes or any vape product which contains or can be used to deliver nicotine, to any person under the age of 18. As such, The Puffin Hut are required to verify the age of any customer wishing to purchase our products.
By purchasing from us you give authorisation to The Puffin Hut Ltd to use any of the personal information you have provided to carry out the relevant age verification checks. Your order will only be despatched upon completion of the verification process.
How does The Puffin Hut verify your age?
The Puffin Hut Ltd use a trusted and secure third party provider, One Account Mobile Limited (1account), to assist us in performing the necessary checks to verify that you are over the age of 18. This service is simply to verify your age and is not a credit check so will not affect your credit score in any way.
When you purchase an age-restricted product or service from us, you consent to allow us to share your information with and receive information from One Account Mobile Limited (1account) and third-party providers of identity data to 1account. This is necessary in order to carry out the required checks to verify that you are over the minimum age as determined by UK law. You consent to allow 1account to retain relevant data for the purpose of future verification.

On occasion the age verification check may fail and will be referred to manually re-check your details. If this is the case, you will be requested to provide driving license or passport details in order to complete the age verification process. If you do not wish to provide this information we will be unable to fulfil your order and your order will be cancelled and your payment refunded.
If the verification check fails you will receive an email from 1account which contains a link to follow in order to verify your details. If you do not see an email from 1account, please check your spam/junk folder. You will be asked to verify your details by various means. This may include mobile phone number, credit card, debit card, Citizen Card, UK Driving Licence or Electoral Roll information. Entering your mobile number is the quickest way to verify your details, alternatively please enter the details of the ID type you have chosen to provide.
Once 1account have verified that you are over the legally required age to purchase our products, your order will be processed and dispatched. Once verified you will not be required to be verified again on future orders providing you log into your account and your details remain the same.
