What Nicotine Strength Should I Use?

When you start vaping deciding what nicotine strength will be best for you can be challenging. As Nicotine strengths range from 0mg (no nicotine) all the way up to 20mg (or more commonly 18mg) with all kinds of strengths in between. The hardest part about deciding what strength to use is that nicotine strengths in cigarettes is not transferable over to E-Liquids due to how the body absorbs the nicotine. Let's take a look at some popular strengths to give an idea on how they translate.

0mg Nicotine

0mg is exactly what it sounds like it is, nicotine free. This ‘strength’ is perfect for those who have cut down the strength of their E-liquid and are now ready to stop using nicotine or for those not looking to use nicotine, such as people who want to cloud chase, learn tricks, or just want to quit without using nicotine.

3mg Nicotine (0.3%)

3mg nicotine is one of the most common nicotine strengths used among Sub-Ohm vapers. Although the majority of 3mg liquids are High VG some are available in 50/50 making it a great option for those who smoke under 5 a day.

6mg Nicotine (0.6%)

6mg Nicotine is great for light smokers looking to move from cigarettes. We would recommend a 6mg strength for people who smoke 5-12 cigarettes a day.

12mg Nicotine (1.2%)

12mg strength is probably the most common nicotine strength people start on it is also a great starting point if you’re not 100% sure on what strength to you need to use to get off away from cigarettes. We would recommend a 12 mg to people who smoke between 10 and 20 a day.

18mg Nicotine (1.8%)

18mg is the highest concentrate available commonly. It is the perfect strength for people who smoke more than 20 a day.

One thing to note is that everyone is different, some people are more sensitive to nicotine than others so may need a lighter strength so it's always worth trying different strengths to see what suits you best.
